Oak Ridge National Laboratory regularly sends our “Science Trailers” to showcase all the different science that is being done in-house. Personally, I have had the pleasure to participate at the 2016 Morgan County Career Fair and the 2017 Secret City Festival. Right now (7th April 2018) they are in Washington DC, USA at the Science & Engineering Festival, the largest STEM festival, designed for the public.
I love bringing the latest research to kids and their parents. Can you spot me in the video above? (I’m 5 seconds in). I was explaining that heavy elements of the periodic table are formed not in stars, but rather their violent explosive ends: supernovae!
