LGBTQ+ Talks for Pride Month 2018

LGBTQ+PrideTalks

Through Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group, I have organised the Lab’s first ever LGBTQ+ Pride Month celebration.

Two talks will be given:

  • Queer In STEM – Where are we now, why does it matter, and what can we do? will be presented by Axiel Yael Birenbaum
  • Symbols of Pride and Oppression – Representing LGBTQ+ people through the ages will be presented by Brian H Davison

Refreshments will be served including fresh popcorn. Everyone with access to ORNL is welcome and invited to attend.

For more information, please contact globe@ornl.gov.

EDIT: June 15th 2018

The event was a great success and well attended. I will post the slides (and possibly recording) of this talk as soon as possible.

My talk will be honed for diversity in STEM at large and given again for ORNL’s Committee for Women.
